Comments: The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is my favourite series at this point in time. And because of this, I am a little ticked that the paperback version of Lover Avenged won’t be released until December, 2009. I don’t recall her books being released to hardcover first, except perhaps, Lover Enshrined. That means I have to wait until December to read book 7. I supposed I could read the hard cover from the library, if available, but I can’t do that. I can’t read something before I’ve collected it or at least in the series that I plan to hang onto for a long time. Just doesn’t feel right to do that. UGH! I read the whole thing in one night and boy was I tired the next day! Finally book 6 is on the way in the mail and I can hardly wait for book 7. This series is a must read!

Comments: I love Anita Blake and Merry Gentry. What I am finding tiresome however is the thin plots and overkill on the sex. It’s thinly disguised porn. Not that I have a problem with this, mind you. I’m not a prude by any means. But, when I buy a book, I do expect a certain amount of plot and I do expect a longer time-frame. I’m finding that LKH is selling her two heroine’s short. My friend, told me last night in an email that is one feature she really does like in LKH’s latest books. I don’t mind it, but that’s not why I bought the books in the first place. I also have to go back and read earlier volums of the two series but I am one of those people who hates looking back when I already know where the characters are. Some of the mystery and discovery is taken away. Lastly, I have not listed other books put out by LKH such as a Star Trek book, several omnibus (omnibi), re-released books and audio-books. Playing Easy to Get (Immortals Book 1)

Comments: The first story from the Immortals After Dark series is in novella form and labelled as book 1 for your benefit (as also labelled at goodreads.com). The first three book titles (books 2,3,4) caught my eye and then some when a friend gave these books to me. It took me about a year before I finally picked them up. I guess timing is everything because when I was finally in the mood to read them, I read all them back to back with a voracious appetite. The last two of the series (books 6,7) I bought on my own, not waiting for my friend, who lives in another city, to finish and graciously pass them on to me. I can hardly wait for the next full book!
